The Guide

Bologna holds many secrets. Seven in particular are part of an "alternative route", well known in the city, which helps visitors explore the sights through mysteries and urban legends.

The city also provides space for numerous producers who, in addition to traditional gastronomic products (tortellini, mortadella, etc.), offer foodies real hidden gems, less known to the general public.

Considering all this and after a lot of research and eating, I have handpicked a list of over seventy "secret" Bolognese gastronomic products, divided into categories, to each of which I have associated a secret of the city.

About me

Brazilian, Italian and also Japanese descendant, I’ve always been hungry.

As an intellectual property lawyer, I came to Italy in 2012 to attend a Master in Organization of Culture and Arts at the Università di Bologna.

In this city known internationally for its cuisine, I fell in love with gastronomy and Italians' relationship with food. I then started researching and writing about traditions, stories, ingredients and restaurants.

Writing for me is a need to give vent to an internal creative flow and a mission: to spread the voice about the beauty of Italian cuisine to as many people as possible.

The accumulated knowledge and an endless curiosity led me to discover numerous products, restaurants and producers that could go unnoticed to less attentive eyes or people who do not live in the region.
